Co-founded by Shengze Zhu and Zhengfan Yang, who have been collaborating as dynamic duo since 2010, Burn The Film is dedicated to creating and supporting innovative moving-image work with a singular vision.
Since 2012, Burn The Film has produced five feature-length films and a number of shorts, including creative documentary, author fiction and experimental film. Its work has been exhibited widely at international film festivals such as the Venice, Locarno, Rotterdam, New York, Warsaw, Vancouver, Busan, Yamagata, and Taipei, as well as at venues such as the Pompidou Center (France), MoMA & Lincoln Center (USA), Institute of Contemporary Art Boston (USA), National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (South Korea) and Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (China).
Burn The Film's latest films include PRESENT.PERFECT. (2019), winner of the Tiger Award at International Film Festival Rotterdam, WHERE ARE YOU GOING (2016), winner of the Best Experimental Film Award at South Taiwan Film Festival and the Jury Award at China Independent Film Festival, and ANOTHER YEAR (2016), winner of the Sesterce d’or - Best Film Award at Visions du Réel (Switzerland) and the Grand Prize at RIDM Montreal International Documentary Festival.
